ATLANTA — New Era Cap Co. has inked a three-year licensing agreement with the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) for caps for KBO’s eight teams, effectively immediately.

The deal with the South Korean organization also gives New Era sponsorship rights, including in-stadium signage in the ballparks of the agreeing teams, as well as key advertisements in various magazines, as well as placements in buses, subways and cable sports television. The caps will also be available in KBO concession shops, hypermarkets, multi-sports shops, including Foot Locker and The Athletic Foot, franchise shops and other retailers.

Andrew Wood, representative director for New Era Cap Asia Pacific, said: “This deal will further enhance our Asian influence and will no doubt help us build upon our already strong international relationships.”

The 2008 KBO season opens March 29 with two teams donning the on-field caps. Wood said six of the eight teams will wear the caps in the 2009 season, with the remaining two teams following after that.
