Rebecca Minkoff is expanding into the Middle East with freestanding stores.
The designer will open stand-alone stores in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on April 8 and April 22, respectively. The brand already has four wholesale accounts in the region.
The Dubai store, at 1,408 square feet, is located at the City Walk concept mall. The Abu Dhabi store, a 1,129-square-foot location, is at Yas Island in the YAS Mall.
“Having a presence in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi – such exceptionally diverse cities – has been a longtime goal of ours. We strive to connect with our customers on a global scale and design our stores with our millennial customer in mind. Breaking into this market will give us the opportunity to directly connect and cater to our next-generation Middle Eastern shoppers,” said Uri Minkoff, chief executive officer.
The entire Rebecca Minkoff collection will be available at both locations including handbags, ready-to-wear, athleisure, denim, shoes, jewelry, wearable tech, small leather goods and accessories.
The company has also expanded its global presence with a store in Hong Kong that opened last April and with more international stores slated to open this year. In the U.S., Minkoff has flagship stores in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco with Chicago scheduled to open later this spring.
