NEW YORK — Michel A. Rizik, former president of Rizik Brothers women’s specialty store in Washington, D.C., died Feb. 8 at the Powhatan Nursing Home in Falls Church, Va.

Rizik, 79, died of congestive heart failure, according to a sister, Renee Rizik.

Rizik’s father, A.M. Rizik, and uncle, Joseph, founded the business in 1908 on F Street. Michel Rizik started working at the store in sales, held positions in buying and merchandising and eventually became president. He retired in 1984.

Two sisters, Maxine and Renee, currently run the business as president and vice president, respectively.

Also surviving are three sons and a daughter; three other sisters, a brother and six grandchildren.
