Services for William F. Lynch, Jr., a lifelong retailer, will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton, N.J.
Lynch, 71, died Monday after a short illness, according to his life partner, George Pirocchi.
Lynch, a native of Pittsburgh, graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and followed his father into the retail business. Over the course of his career, he worked for several well-known stores including May Department Stores Co., Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue, where he had served as senior vice president and general merchandise manager of missy sportswear, Pirocchi said. For the past three years, he had been a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where he taught fashion merchandising management, according to the school.
In addition to Pirocchi, Lynch is survived by one sister, one brother and several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
