Robert Marc is embarking on his first celebrity collaboration.
The eyewear designer, who celebrated 35 years in business last year, has designed a capsule collection of aviator sunglasses inspired by Sally Hershberger, the celebrity hairstylist with salons located in New York and Los Angeles.
“I met Sally Hershberger at lunch in the Hamptons and was immediately attracted to her chic, edgy but casual style. She has a charming, self-deprecating sense of humor and can convince anyone to do as she wishes,” Marc said. “We became fast friends.”
The Sally Hershberger aviator is handmade in Japan from a lightweight, durable titanium that features mirrored lenses, a signature for Hershberger, in six different colorways including a rose gold style with 18-karat rose gold lenses, and a yellow gold titanium made from 24-karat yellow gold lenses. The latter style was influenced by Hershberger’s 24-karat hair-care line.
The sunglasses, which retail from $450 to $895, will be available at Robert Marc stores and select retailers around the world starting April 24.
