Off 5th has set five openings for 2012 and sees continued growth down the road.
“There are numerous opportunities for new Off 5th stores throughout the country,” said Robert Wallstrom, president of Off 5th.
The growth of the Off 5th outlet division of Saks Inc. underscores the popularity and profitability of the sector. Wallstrom said that the new outlets will be in upscale outlet, lifestyle or strip centers, in Merrimack, N.H.; Syracuse; Livermore, Calif.; Grand Prairie, Tex., and Nashville, which replaces a site that was flooded in 2010. There also are plans to open outlets in Charleston, S.C.; Northbrook, Ill., and Sugar Land, Tex., later this year.
In 2008, Off 5th launched a more polished format. The newer stores have loftlike, 25,000- to 28,000-square-foot interiors and fixturing that’s movable to flex assortments. Fifty Off 5th units currently operate.
