Montreal-based Samuelsohn has named Walter Davis to be vice president of furnishings, a new division for the 87-year-old tailored-clothing company, which is taking steps to become a lifestyle brand, president Arnold Brant Silverstone said. Davis ran the private label furnishings business at Nordstrom, where he worked for 22 years. His appointment is Samuelsohn’s first outside the tailored category. Samuelsohn will launch sportswear in fall 2011 and open New York offices in the next 90 days, Silverstone said.
