Saturdays NYC continues to expand.
The New York-based lifestyle brand will open its fifth store in Nagoya, Japan, in early October. The location will be the brand’s third Japanese store.
“This opening of our fifth location comes in the wake of our five-year anniversary, which we celebrated in August,” said Morgan Collett, co-founder of Saturdays NYC. “Hitting both milestones at nearly the same time is both humbling and thrilling.”
The two-story store will be 1,485 square feet and will be situated in Nagoya’s Sakae neighborhood. The store’s first level will include an espresso bar, surfboard rack and curated selection of art books. The second level will carry the brand’s ready-to-wear collection, accessories, surf gear and artwork.
“We’ve had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Japan over the course of the last few years and we were instantly drawn to Nagoya,” said Josh Rosen, co-founder of Saturdays NYC. “The city has been shaped heavily by fashion, art and culture and we’re excited to be a part of that energy.”
The design of the store will be minimalistic and feature works from Italian photographer Alessandro Simonetti. A one-of-a-kind speaker by designer Devon Turnbull of Ojas will hang from the ceiling.
“A key focus for our brand is expanding into the international market and introducing new areas and customers to the Saturdays lifestyle,” said Collett.
