Scotch & Soda will expand its Greenwich Village location later this year.
The Amsterdam-based casual sportswear brand has taken over the former record store next door to its Bleecker Street unit and will add around 1,000 additional square feet to its current 1,100-square-foot space.
Ari Hoffman, chief executive officer of Scotch & Soda USA, said the additional space will be devoted to women’s wear while the original store will house the company’s men’s collection. They currently share the space in the existing store.
Hoffman said the new space is expected to open this summer.
“Bleecker Street has been the epicenter for our customer base,” he said, noting that the store attracts both locals and tourists. “It’s an extremely productive corner location and we will have one of the largest facades on the street.”
The original store opened in May 2015 and was the company’s third location in the city.
Scotch & Soda was acquired by Sun Capital Partners Inc. in 2011.
