Shira Suveyke has been named brand president of Shopbop, a new post.
Most recently, Suveyke was with Yoox Net-a-porter as executive vice president and chief merchant for The Outnet. During her tenure she led global teams including buying, planning and site publishing departments, while also overseeing international retail operations. Earlier she was vice president, divisional merchandise manager of women’s at Gilt, and before that was vice president, men’s merchandising at J. Crew.

In her new role, she will be responsible for Shopbop and East Dane’s marketing, creative, buying and planning teams and will report to Kim Fleissner, chief executive officer of Shopbop. Fleissner became general manager and ceo in May, succeeding Darcy Penick, who will become president of Bergdorf Goodman, effective Sept. 4, as reported.
Fleissner, who reports to Christine Beauchamp, president of Amazon Fashion, said Suveyke “brings invaluable product and digital knowledge to our brand.”
“Shira will lead our marketing, creative, buying and planning teams, as we continue to innovate on behalf of our customer,” Fleissner said.
Shopbop, which was launched in 2000, is an online fashion retailer focused on apparel and accessories from contemporary and designer labels. In 2006, BOP LLC was acquired by Amazon.com Inc. In 2013, Shopbop’s brother site, East Dane, was launched offering contemporary and emerging men’s wear brands.
