Shiseido Americas Corp. — the U.S. subsidiary of Tokyo-based Shiseido Co. Ltd. — has named its first vice president of e-commerce.

Effective Friday, Jeanette Garner serves in the newly created role, designed to bridge global e-commerce functions for Nars and Shiseido. In her new role, Garner will be charged with ensuring that e-commerce projects support brand strategies as well as well as growing digital and e-commerce platforms. She will report to Pankaj Gupta, executive vice president of finance and operations and regional chief financial officer.

“Jeanette joins [Shiseido] with the ideal combination of expertise in e-commerce development and prestige beauty,” said Gupta. “She will be a great addition to our team as we continue to amplify our e-commerce initiatives and accelerate our businesses in this very dynamic area.”

Garner previously worked at Lancôme as vice president, head of e-commerce and interactive marketing. Before that, she was director of merchandising for Internet and catalogue for beauty at Victoria’s Secret Direct and has held management positions at both and Saks Direct in the beauty category.
