Shopper: Larry Chaityn

Date/Time: 10.5.2012, 3:25 p.m.

Store: The Art of Shaving

Location: 520 Madison Ave.

In and out. That’s investment banker Larry Chaityn’s shopping M.O. Two years ago, a friend gave him a coupon for The Art of Shaving and after trying a couple of products, he was sold. “The products here come highly recommended,” says Chaityn. “And they have really good reviews. I used to use an aerosol shave cream or a regular supermarket scrub and it really tore up my face, so I’ve become an Art of Shaving convert.” On his way to a meeting, Chaityn stopped in the Madison Avenue boutique to restock his grooming regime. When Chaityn approached the register, he found that by purchasing the pre-shave oil, after-shave balm and shaving cream, he was eligible to receive $10 off his purchase. “Why not?” says Chaityn. “I aim for a clean appearance and this really delivers.”

What’s in Oscar’s Bag?

Shopper: Oscar Crespo

Date/Time: 10.5.2012, 12:56 p.m.

Store: Bloomingdale’s

Location: 1000 3rd Ave.

Twice a year, art dealer Oscar Crespo travels to New York City to visit his stateside clients, and the Bolivian always sets time aside to shop for his grooming staples at Bloomingdale’s, as well. “In Bolivia, we don’t have many products,” says Crepso, “so I purchase a lot to take home. It’s also impossible to find Kiehl’s in my country and I really love the quality of the products.” Crespo likes to shop on his own and enjoys taking his time. “I know what I want and I have my own style,” says the 44-year-old. “I like a modern touch, but I’m very classic.” Crespo says he isn’t one to experiment often with new products; he augments his Kiehl’s regimen with select items from Perricone MD. “I travel a lot,” Crespo says, “so it’s important for me to know what works and what doesn’t.”
