OPEN FOR BUSINESS: Sole Society opened the doors to its first store today at Santa Monica Place.

The women’s footwear and accessories e-tailer’s move into brick-and-mortar follows its disclosure in July that it raised $8 million from Nordstrom Inc. and Insight Venture Partners.

“As we look toward the future of Sole Society, we see great opportunity for growth as we move beyond our online roots and bring existing consumers and new shoppers into our branded brick-and-mortar retail,” said Sole Society chief executive officer Andy Soloman.

The company, which spun off from HauteLook in 2011 when Nordstrom acquired the flash-sales site, carries shoes priced at $100 and under along with jewelry, purses and other accessories.

The store carries the full range of Sole Society products and is promising to offer in-store exclusives to items before they can be purchased online.

The company collaborated with Los Angeles-based StyleSaint on a sustainable apparel collection that’s available in the store, with plans to rotate home, beauty and other apparel offerings from other brands or local designers.
