Stag, a four-unit Texas-based retailer, will open a Faherty pop-up shop at its Venice, Calif., unit on Aug. 20. The 450-square-foot shop will stay in place for eight weeks.
Alex Faherty, cofounder of the New York-based label, said the shop is an “extension of our SoHo shop and really embodies the lifestyle of Venice Beach and Abbot Kinney.” It will sport whitewashed barnwood, archival photographs, vintage surfboards and other antiques.
Stag is located at 1338 Abbot Kinney Blvd., in a 3,500-square-foot space that includes a loft that is used for special events and collaborations. The Faherty collection will be housed in that space and will include the brand’s men’s and women’s collections.
“Stag is the perfect place for an in-shop experience. As surfers, we spend most of our free time on the beach, and we’re right at home on Abbot Kinney,” said Alex’s brother, cofounder and designer Mike Faherty. “We’re psyched that the brand has a following in Southern California as a lot of our designs draw inspiration from 1950s California surf culture. We’re excited to feature our men’s and women’s fall collection at one of America’s best stores. Don [Weir] and Steve [Shuck], the owners of Stag, are the ultimate curators of men’s wear and their eye for great apparel really sets them apart.”
To celebrate the launch, Stag will host a cocktail party at the store on Thursday, Aug. 20.
Last spring, the California-inspired brand opened a store in SoHo. The label is also carried in Mr Porter and United Arrows.
