Tamara Mellon is bringing her “wear now” sensibility to the Hamptons.
Mellon will open a 1,000-square-foot pop-up shop at 16 Hill Street in Southampton. This marks the company’s first pop-up store location.
The shop, which opens July 4, will stay open through Labor Day. It will feature Mellon’s ready-to-wear, handbags and shoes.
Mellon, the former chief creative officer and cofounder of Jimmy Choo, has built her namesake business model by providing monthly fashion concepts that reach retail in season, deliberately narrowing the time from showing merchandise to buyers and press to store delivery to about three months.
The Southampton shop’s merchandise mix will rely on “wear now” summer looks. Rtw retails from $395 to $1,995; shoes range from $595 to $1,995, and bags go from $425 to $2,195. Included in the assortment will be the signature fringe skirt and the Sweet Revenge legging boots.
In addition to selling summer merchandise, the store will offer the ability to pre-order fall merchandise.
Mellon’s retail accounts include Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Tootsies, Scoop, Mytheresa.com and Net-a-porter.
