Toms, the philanthropic footwear brand that donates one pair of new shoes for each new pair sold, is teaming up with & Other Stories to launch its first ready-to-wear collection.

The Toms & Other Stories co-lab, as the brand with design offices in Stockholm and Paris calls its partnerships, will be introduced in the spring and features new interpretations of some of Toms’ classic shoe styles, along with apparel inspired by the L.A. lifestyle, specifically, that of Venice Beach.

With a quirky and Bohemian bent specific to Venice Beach, model and jewelry designer Erin Wasson was chosen to represent the co-lab in a campaign.

“As a Venice Beach resident, Wasson epitomizes the essence of the collection,” & Other Stories said, adding, “This made her a natural choice to be the face of the co-lab.”

Items such as off-white dresses, one with red and navy embroidery, and another with black fringe around the neck, will retail for $85. Toms shoes, embellished with embroidery and ombré tassels, will range in price from $64 to $98.

Belgian-born writer, photographer and stylist Natalie Joos, who is also the founder of talesofendearment.com, photographed the campaign. Some of the photos were shot at Wasson’s unusual home, where a green wall is covered with different types of cowboy hats and a large, faded peacock chair stands between two windows framed with bright flowers and abstract shapes. Wasson stands in front of the Mission-style door to her house holding a cup of coffee in one image, and in another, she’s leaning against a weathered pink wall wearing a white dress with black, blue, orange and red stripes.

The co-lab marks the first time Toms has teamed up with a women’s fashion brand. With the partnership, & Other Stories will support one month of English language classes through Magic Bus Women’s School fund with every rtw item sold. As always, Toms will donate a pair of shoes to a child in need for each pair of shoes purchased.

“This co-lab collection captures a free-spirited aesthetic that is easy to make your own,” said Georgine Le Toqueux, designer, & Other Stories. “It shows a laid-back, unique and authentic silhouette, which includes reinterpreted versions of some of Toms classic shoe styles. This is an invitation to a strong and comfortable wardrobe filled with beautiful prints and vivid colors.”

“& Other Stories has a firm point of view on their values and that is something that is vital to anyone that Toms collaborates with,” said Blake Mycoskie, Toms’ founder. “Our giving partners, including Magic Bus, are the true heroes of the Toms story. We work with over 100 nonprofits around the world who integrate our giving into their programs, offering deep local expertise and on-the-ground impact. We couldn’t do what we do without them.”

Mycoskie came up with the Toms in 2006 idea while traveling in Argentina and seeing that among the hardships children faced was growing up without shoes.

& Other Stories each year invites a few designers to create co-collections. The collaborations are intended to complement the brand’s collection and introduce customers to new designers from around the world. Past co-lab participants have included Rodarte, Ada Kokosar, Sadie Williams, Faux real, Claire Vivier, Vika Gazinskaya, Rachel Antonoff, Lykke Li and Zana Bayne.
