Valentino has opened its first boutique in Canada at the Yorkdale Shopping Center, located at 3401 Dufferin Street in North York, Ontario. This marks another step in the Italian brand’s expansion globally and brings the number of stores in North America up to 20. At the end of 2018, the Rome-based fashion company counted 197 stores.
The store carries women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories and fragrances.
Covering 4,600 square feet, the unit was designed by creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli together with David Chipperfield Architects, an evolution of the blueprint first unveiled in Milan’s Via Montenapoleone in 2012.
In a palazzo-like atmosphere, gray Venetian terrazzo and palladiana, oak, glass, velvet and soft carpets are key elements of the store.
The collection is displayed on curvilinear oak shelving and on hanging elements, which are supported by polished brass fixtures around the perimeter. These features incorporate LED lighting so that each shelf or display is individually illuminated. Cozy sitting areas help customers indulge in the shopping experience.
