Venus Williams, having just wrapped up her 15th Grand Slam singles final appearance at the Australian Open (she lost to her younger sister Serena), will make an appearance Sunday at Paragon Sports’ New York flagship, which sells her activewear line, EleVen by Venus Williams.
She will present her spring Intrepid collection, along with a fashion show at the store. There will also be an opportunity to meet the 36-year-old tennis star, who is ranked No. 13 on the WTA Tour. The event takes place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Paragon Sports at 867 Broadway in New York and is open to the public.
Customers will receive a 20 percent discount on EleVen the day of the event, and the first 20 customers who purchase an EleVen item will receive a visor autographed by Williams. In addition, there will be a raffle, where the winner will receive an EleVen banner dress.
Intrepid includes such looks as graphic tanks retailing for $58, long-sleeve tops for $64, and finish line jackets for $110.
“Intrepid represents the intersection of sports and style, and Paragon Sports is the perfect fit in showcasing this new collection,” said William. “It’s bold, smart and will resonate strongly with the tennis and fitness customer.” She said she was happy to work with such a longstanding sporting goods store (the family-owned retailer was founded in 1908) and share the line with new customers.
Attendees can view the spring line, in addition to the Core line that features flutter skirts, love tanks and Starr Power leggings, which are available year-round.
Launched in 2012, EleVen by Venus Williams’ apparel is geared to fitness, yoga, running, dance and tennis. The company’s mantra is “10” is just a number, but EleVen is a lifestyle. The line is known for its bold prints, geometrics and florals.
