MILAN – Percassi is on the side of the angels. The Italian retail and real estate development firm has signed on as franchising partner for Victoria’s Secret in Italy, where the label’s first city boutiques are slated to open this year.
Victoria’s Secret, which sells lingerie, swimwear, loungewear, accessories and cosmetics all across the U.S. and Canada, has over 1,000 doors, in addition to an e-commerce site and mail catalog, but the brand’s European presence has thus far been limited, with 10 sales points in the U.K. and a smattering of doors in airports such as Linate and Malpensa in Milan. The company is part of L Brands, listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
In Italy, customers will soon be able to cruise the racks for Victoria’s Secret fragrances, bath and body products, small leather goods, travel accessories and a selection of lingerie.
Founded in 1976 by Antonio Percassi, Percassi is known for its beauty brands Kiko Milano and Madina, and for its role in bringing Inditex’s fast-fashion powerhouse Zara to the Italian market. The firm has also worked with a wide range of major brands, from Gucci to Ferrari to Swatch, on local retail development.
