The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund has joined forces with the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) Education Foundation to further expand its scholarship program. The new tieup will allow the organizations to award 10 additional $5,000 scholarships to eligible students. It will also serve to expand the number of schools within the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund network to 41, up from the current 35.
“The AAFA Education Foundation has a rich history of supporting education in this country and we are excited to bring their partner schools into the roster of schools eligible for the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund’s scholarship program,” said Jimmy Rosenfeld, president of the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund and chief executive officer of F&T Apparel.
“The combined efforts of the YMA and AAFA Education Foundation will provide more resources and opportunities to develop talent needed for the future of our industry,” said Kevin Burke, president and chief executive officer of the AAFA. “This is our opportunity to give back to our industry and our customers through a commitment to its next generation of leaders.”
Founded in 1937, The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund (FSF) provides funds to students pursuing a future in the fashion industry. This year, it awarded 126 $5,000 scholarships. The AAFA Education Foundation has awarded over 2,500 scholarships to students since its founding in 1968.
