Zady, the shopping platform and lifestyle destination for consumers who care about the origins of the items they purchase, launches its first pop-up store today at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.

The 400-square-foot shop in the airport’s highly trafficked Terminal D will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to final departure times through Jan. 4.

Zady’s cofounding partner Soraya Darabi described the holiday pop up as “another way for us to reach our customers directly, creating a community of like-minded, conscious consumers who are looking for more out of the items they purchase.”

The pop-up location is a first, and major, step toward its goal of creating an omnichannel presence for consumers, eventually leading to a permanent brick-and-mortar location, said cofounder Maxine Bédat.
Zady’s holiday pop-up store will offer a selection of brands for travelers and shoppers to purchase as holiday gifts during their travels.

Participating brands include:

• Jewelry by Marisa Haskell, Brandy Pham, Scosha, Winifred Grace, Gorjana and Griffin, and Tiklari.

• Accessories and handbags by Tracey Tanner, Clare Vivier, Winter Session, Mercado Global, Forage, Alice D., Hortensia Handmade, Apolis, Mischa Lampert and Armor Lux.

• Apparel and home accessories by Industry of All Nations, Cotton Citizen, Sundry, Smock, Found My Animal, Lucia, Rue de Marli, Le Feu De L’Eau, Tattly, Shinola, La Compagnie Du Kraft, Ogami, To Boldly Fold, Kaweco, Haute Papier, Pigeon Toe Ceramics and Nkuku.

Zady will donate 5 percent of every sale from the pop-up store to benefit its nonprofit partner, The Bootstrap Project, which works to promote and retain centuries-old crafts and customs and bring sustainable economic development to communities around the world.

Darabi and Bédat started  the Zady e-commerce site in late August, a platform inspired by an idea similar to the Whole Foods strategy that sparked a movement to question where food comes from.
