WASHINGTON — A joint crackdown on counterfeits by Alibaba Group and Chinese authorities earlier this year netted 1.43 billion yuan, or $206 million, worth of bogus products and the take down of 417 counterfeit production sites, the Chinese e-commerce giant said Thursday.

Alibaba announced the results of “Operation Cloud Sword,” a joint effort targeting off-line counterfeiting and criminal rings in conjunction with Chinese law enforcement.
