Fossil Group Inc. partnered with Dassault Systèmes to implement the 3-D software company’s “My Collection” solution to develop and manage product life-cycle processes. The partnership resulted in industry recognition for the watch maker.
“My Collection” is powered by Dassault Systèmes’ 3-D Experience platform, a consumer-centric software solution that enables clients to create interactive online experiences for customers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Fossil Group said it selected “My Collection” for its ability to streamline development across its watch, jewelry and handbag collections. The service will assist in launching new products faster in response to accelerated consumer demands while improving sourcing and supply chain management. “My Collection” works in tandem with a bi-directional Adobe Illustrator connector to simplify product development processes into a unified solution.
The solution is designed to help brands and retailers invigorate their supply chains and increase visibility as well as create greater flexibility and “decision support” across product categories. It also allows for real-time collaboration, streamlined sourcing capabilities, data re-use, unified design and development and overall process efficiency.
The platform is equipped to model, visualize and simulate products in 3-D. And, through Dassault Systèmes’ SolidWorks unit, the firm is partnered with companies that facilitate 3-D printing for various objects, a practice that is growing in popularity for jewelry, eyewear and accessory brands.
As a result of the partnership, Fossil Group was a recipient of the 2017 Top Innovator Awards, presented by Apparel Magazine. The initiative recognizes standout IT-related solutions and product launches. The firm’s timepiece portfolio includes Michael Kors, DKNY, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Emporio Armani and Karl Lagerfeld.

“My Collection” supports a variety of product categories including apparel, outerwear, intimates, footwear, furniture and fixtures, home and garden and leisure goods. The platform aids brands and retailers in improving operative efficiencies and speed to market by as much as 30 to 70 percent, according to research by Dassault Systèmes.
