MILAN — E-Pitti, the portal of Florence-based trade producer Pitti Immagine launched with Fiera Digitale in 2011, is launching a new service for exhibitors.
Starting with the next edition of men’s wear international trade show Pitti Uomo, running Jan. 12 to 15, companies showcasing their collections at the fair will be able to purchase an App developed by E-Pitti enabling them to collect orders through an iPad.
“Small-medium companies are our main clients and most of them don’t have budgets to invest on the digital,” said Fiera Digitale chief executive officer Francesco Bottigliero, highlighting that many of them still collect orders by hand or through excel files. “Through this software, they will be also able to satisfy the requests coming from those international clients asking for digital receipts of their orders.”
Separately, E-Pitti is also working at the organization of the third Italian edition of Decoded Fashion, which will take place at Milan’s Magna Pars luxury hotel Nov. 17 to 18. This year the event will be focused on three themes – e-commerce, big data and personalization.
Among the prizes for the most interesting start-ups presenting their projects, Hogan will offer an induction program with its top managers, while Facebook Italia and Silicon Valley-based Fashion Technology Accelerator will give an accelerator program. The latter will also assign the winner a cash prize of 10,000 euros, or $11,209 at current exchange.
