Tablet-publishing platform StoryDesk has launched an iPad-to-iPad presentation sharing component that allows the mobile workforce to deliver and update iPad presentation apps.

The feature is useful for sales teams that wish to use the iPad app in lieu of a physical catalogue when marketing to retailers. The platform also has an analytics component that lets apparel firms drill down on information about which departments buyers are interested in and determine what percentage that interest is in by geography to better track sales orders and inventory.

Using techniques employed in video gaming, there are also interactive features that allow the users to drag and drop, pinch, and play with the screen for content information and better visuals. Instead of moving linearly from page to page, as when using a printed format, the platform allows the user to zero in on the section where there is most interest.

Companies that use the service can push updates and multimedia elements directly to their audience’s iPads, without having to print new catalogues or have sales members cart the physical printout from meeting to meeting.

According to Jordan Stolper, StoryDesk’s chief executive officer, two apparel firms already using the app are Ralph Lauren Corp. and Hugo Boss. Other clients include financial services, and cosmetics-related companies.
