UPS is now offering “UPS My Choice” for business service, which the company claimed is the “first visibility and tracking solution of its kind in the U.S. designed for small and medium-sized businesses [or SMBs].”
The platform allows SMB shippers and receivers “visibility and control” with UPS deliveries. The service is available for U.S. customers, and will roll out globally next year.
UPS said the “mobile-friendly solution” was designed to address what it described as “significant pain points experienced by SMBs.”
“Self-registration allows shippers and receivers to easily gain access to the new visibility experience, which will enable them to easily monitor, plan, react to and control their incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments,” UPS said in a statement. “Users can extend access to additional members of their organization, granting them visibility of and control over deliveries.”
Features include a web-based tracking dashboard, and “advance delivery notifications including day-before and day-of delivery notifications, with estimated time of delivery within two-hour windows for the majority of U.S. postal codes,” the company said.
More features will be added later this year, the company said, which includes “delivery change options” and a delivery alert to notify package receivers when UPS drivers are nearing their destination.
The company said the launch of this SMB solution, it is “extending the reach” of the UPS My Choice platform to commercial businesses.
Kevin Warren, chief marketing officer at UPS, said SMB customers can “now can easily sign-up for this free inbound and outbound visibility solution that allows them to track and manage their shipments and provide their own clients with a better customer experience.”
