Gerald “Jerry” Storch is more than just a business leader. The chief executive officer of Hudson’s Bay Co., is also a dad.
And for his parenting skills, Storch will be honored as a 2016 Father of the Year at a luncheon commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Father of the Year Awards at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel on June 14.
Storch is a 30-year retail veteran whose background includes Toys ‘R’ Us and Target. At Hudson’s Bay, he oversees the company’s retail chains which include Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, Hudson’s Bay, Home Outfitters, Saks Off 5th, Galeria Kaufhof and others. He has also worked at McKinsey & Co. He and his wife, Jacquie, have five children.
“This marks a significant year for the council as we celebrate our 75th anniversary honoring some of the country’s most well-respected and exemplary fathers,” said Dan Orwig, chairman of the National Father’s Day Committee and group president of the men’s division for Itochu Prominent USA. Orwig praised Storch as “a revered and incredibly accomplished retail leader among his peers, who stands out as an exceptional role model to fathers everywhere.”
