More than 80 artists and groups from Japan and abroad will participate, including 51 bands, 11 painters and seven performance artists.

Among those making an appearance are Chitose Hajime, who recently topped the Japanese charts with her debut single, “Wadatsumi no Ki,” which translates to “Tree by the Sea”; Holland’s Instant Composers Pool Orchestra,  which is coming to Japan for the first time in 24 years, and the Chris Murray Combo, a charismatic ska band  from the U.S.’ West Coast.

About 6,000 visitors attended last year, and the same number is expected to attend the event, organized by Human Earthy, this year as well.

A single-day ticket is 8,000 yen, or about $74 at current exchange, and travel agencies are organizing tours for concertgoers from several Japanese cities.
