No surprises here: “Hamilton” set a record Tuesday morning with 16 Tony Award nominations.

Former “Book of Mormon” costars Nikki James and Andrew Rannells announced the nominations early Tuesday for the 2016 Tonys, in a year anticipated to be a sweep for “Hamilton.”

The nominees for best musical are “Bright Star,” “Hamilton,” “School of Rock,” “Shuffle Along,” and “Waitress.” For best play, they are “Eclipsed,” “King Charles III,” “The Father,” and “The Humans.”

Nominees for best performance by an actress in a leading role in a play included Lupita Nyong’o for “Eclipsed,” Jessica Lange for “Long Day’s Journey Into Night,” and Michelle Williams for “Blackbird.”

“Hamilton” creator Lin Manuel Miranda will face off against his costar Leslie Odom Jr. for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical.

Sara Bareilles and Steve Martin both received notations for best original score for “Waitress” and “Bright Star,” respectively.

James Cordon will host the 70th annual Tony Awards on June 12th.
