HOLIDAY IN: A new crop of swanky hotels might be turning up in sun spots far and wide, but they’re also places where New York’s social set should feel right at home. Chris Burch, whose wife, Tory, will launch her own clothing line in New York next month, has joined forces with the team of investors behind the Faena Hotel & Universe in Buenos Aires. The super-luxe hotel and residence created by Argentine fashion designer Alan Faena will be designed by Philippe Starck and will open in May.

For his part, Paul Kanavos, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos’ charming husband, will open the Temenos Anguilla. The St. Regis retreat in the British West Indies boasts 20 private villas, a 97-room hotel and spa, an 18-hole golf course and almost a mile of oceanfront beach and will open in mid-2006.
