The MTV Video Music Awards red carpet is off to a fast and furious start. Typically, we have to wait until the very end of the red carpet arrivals for the biggest stars to show up, but Beyoncé Knowles actually arrived early— at 6:58 p.m. for a 7 p.m. red carpet start, to be precise — with her daughter Blue Ivy Carter and a gaggle of young girls dressed in princesslike gowns in tow. Knowles is up for several awards tonight for “Formation,” and she’ll be performing, as will Rihanna and Britney Spears.
Knowles wore a beaded celery green dress from Francesco Scognamiglio fall couture collection. The transparent sheath had a profusion of feathers at the shoulders, offering an angel-like winged effect. She paired the look with an on-trend French braid and massive emerald and diamond earrings by Lorraine Schwartz. Blue Ivy looked like a princess out of “Frozen,” in a cognac taffeta and tulle pouf dress with a cascading train, and a diamond tiara, also by her mom’s go-to jeweler.
