After showing his Burberry Prorsum collection, Christopher Bailey dropped into the Vogue Russia party Monday night with his “mentor,” Burberry chairman John Peace. “I’m very lucky to have such a supportive chairman and board behind me.”
The designer Giles Deacon was also there, fresh from London fashion week. “I’ve just finished off my show and now I’m getting ready for Paris,” he said.
In between, Deacon said he would be joining Gwyneth Paltrow, Dennis Hopper and Tod’s chairman and chief executive officer Diego Della Valle at a private dinner to celebrate the premiere of Pashmy Dream on Wednesday night.
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana also stepped in, looking dapper in matching black tie. “We only had 10 minutes to get changed,” Gabbana said, ahead of Thursday’s Dolce and Gabbana show.
Meanwhile, across town, pop princess Katy Perry rocked an intimate crowd at the D&G after party. “I love you,” screamed one audience member. “Yeah, like, I’ve heard that before,” Perry responded dryly.
Neil Barrett was among the throng. “We’ve known Katy since she was 17. It’s crazy… We used to hang out when we were in L.A. It’s great when people make it,” Barrett said.
