The Cinema Society and Tommy Hilfiger hosted a screening of the hipster dramedy “HappyThankYouMorePlease” at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema, followed by a party at the Top of The Standard. Much of the cast was on hand, including writer, director and star Josh Radnor, Malin Akerman, Zoe Kazan, Pablo Schreiber and Michael Algieri, who at 10 years old was one of the younger patrons of the hot spot formerly known as the Boom Boom Room.
“I loved it. It doesn’t end in a feel-good way but in a deeper, more meaningful way,” said Adrian Grenier of the film, which won the audience award at Sundance.
“It’s the new Brat Pack — it’s bringing back that Eighties feel, which is my favorite genre,” said Dree Hemingway of the pretty, youthful cast. Also soaking up the scene were Carey Mulligan and Amar’e Stoudemire, Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl Irina Shayk, Ed Westwick channeling Marlon Brando in a motorcycle jacket and leather cap, Kelly Bensimon, Gabourey Sidibe, Richard Meier and daughter Ana Meier and John Mayer with Russell Simmons, huddled in a booth.
