BOY MEETS GIRL: Fantastic Man and Loewe hosted a party at The Glory on Kingsland Road in East London on Thursday to mark the magazine’s spring 2015 cover that features Loewe’s creative director Jonathan Anderson clad in clothing from his women’s wear line.
“I love the cover because it’s everything I would want to be, but I have never been. It’s a faux pas of myself. I would love to be that person, and I love being the character of a David Sims and Joe McKenna image,” said Anderson over gin and tonics at the bar. “Fantastic Man is the most refined awkwardness.”
Anderson said his summer plans include “a month off — the first time I’ve been off since I’ve been working, for seven, eight years.” He’ll be on a car trip from Nice to Biarritz.
Gary Card was among the crowd that included Tallulah Harlech, Sean Frank and Margot Bowman.
“I’ll be working all summer,” said the set designer, whose most recent projects include the interior design of concept store LN:CC. “I’m really excited about rebranding and getting into more architectural projects. This is the beginning of more interiors, which is one of the things I’m really excited about. There are lots of things coming up,” said Card.
Card added he has been approached to design a range of toys, “something I’ve wanted to do since I was a child. I’d love to launch them in somewhere like Colette or Dover Street Market.”
