“I’ve brought along my nephews,” said Neil Barrett, also sporting a jacket from his fall collection set for Monday. Ennio Capasa, in a knitted jacket direct from his runway, explained his son’s appearance on the catwalk earlier in the day. “A model dropped out at the last minute and I convinced him to walk,” he shrugged. Milan Vukmirovic, weary from Trussardi’s centennial celebrations, said he was planning some much needed rest, a theme close to John Varvatos’ heart.

“None of us have any time, but the whole point was to emphasize stopping, and looking at the world,” the designer of his show earlier that evening. Simon Spurr and Calvin Klein’s Italo Zucchelli were both in Milan to set up their showroom, and said they’d like to see New York host a dedicated men’s fashion week. “There’s definitely enough talent there,” mused Spurr.
