The society set incurred staggering Uber bills on Friday night, partying in an unfamiliar borough: the Bronx.
Mark Badgley and James Mischka, Georgina Bloomberg, Cristina Cuomo, Alexandra Lind Rose, newlyweds Nellie Diamond and Ted Wasserman, Gillian Miniter, Alexandra Lebenthal and Byrdie Bell were among those that trekked north to the New York Botanical Gardens for its annual Winter Wonderland Ball. The splashy affair, one of the most looked forward to among charity ball types, serves as the unveiling of the garden’s annual train show — each year, 120 miniature New York landmarks are constructed entirely from greenery.
The evening benefits the gardens’ children’s education programs.
The crowd piled into the Enid A. Haupt Conservtory, a verdant version of the North Pole with its implosion of tinsel, garland, woodsy ornaments and Christmas lights. “Tequila?” a bottle blonde asked her two friends by the front bar. “Duh!” Guests sipped on their beverages and made timely small talk — mostly about where they were vacationing between Christmas and the new year. Alina Cho reapplied her lipstick, peering into the mirror of her Edie Parker clutch, before joining the crowd. Sylvester Miniter hung out with Lebenthal by the front bar. “So what else?” he asked during a lull in the conversation. She just shrugged.
