The festivities for Sunday’s 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards began Friday night, when Perry Ellis and Vanity Fair hosted a cocktail party for the cast of “The Office,” who were nominated for outstanding comedy series for the fifth year in a row.

In the Chateau Marmont’s penthouse—decorated with a water cooler and photo copier to evoke Dunder Mifflin, the fictitious paper sales company where “The Office” is set—John Krasinski, Ed Helms, B.J. Novak and Angela Kinsey celebrated with Ricky Gervais, who portrayed the boss in the British version of “The Office,” and Emily Blunt, Krasinski’s new wife.
The good fortune of being nominated every single year since the show’s American debut in 2005 had made some of the actors jaded. “We’ve gone so many times [to the Emmys],” said Oscar Nunez, who hates waiting on the red carpet for the step-and-repeat. “We go to the parties.”
A popular topic of conversation was Emmys dressing, as evidenced by actress Mindy Kaling showing off photos of frocks on her Blackberry to colleague Ellie Kemper.
“I’m obsessed with cool streetwear,” Kaling said. But she knew better than to sport cutoff jeans and a shredded T-shirt at the Emmys. “I’m not that famous,” she said.
