Fashion marketing firm The A List, lived up to its lofty moniker on Tuesday night when founder Ashlee Margolis held a bash to mark the company’s 15-year anniversary. Held at the brand’s Beverly Hills showroom, the night drew a crowd that included Freida Pinto, Camilla Belle, Vanessa Hudgens, James Marsden, Rosario Dawson, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Jordana Brewster.
“I’m very A-List dressed…except these are my own rings from India,” said Pinto, analyzing her outfit. No surprise, most attendees wore ensembles by A List’s clients including Parker, Rebecca Taylor and Suno. Added Pinto, “A List has been so supportive of me ever since I moved to L.A. [The staff] aren’t just girls that I work with — they’re friends. We do dinners. We go on hikes.”
Lily Collins was also happy to attend and put the brand’s longevity into perspective. “Fifteen years ago, I would have been doing homework tonight,” she said. “Fifteen years ago, I was 11. I was in school ripping out pages from fashion magazines.”
“I’m overwhelmed and emotional,” said Margolis, who made it a family affair with her mother, husband and sons close by. “The time has definitely flown by. I can’t even believe it.” The business has expanded so much that the showroom was recently doubled in size to 5,500 square feet. It will continue to house luxury brands as the company branches out into automotive, beverage and beauty brands.
Others who perused the new A List digs and snacked on Coolhaus ice cream sandwiches included Minka Kelly, Mandy Moore, Elizabeth Stewart, Busy Phillips, Minnie Driver, Joy Bryant, Ali Larter, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Carrie Brownstein, Michelle Trachtenberg, Dania Ramirez and Jamie Chung. Selma Blair put the guest list in perspective: “I love all the girls Ashlee is friends with.”
