Just 24 hours after presenting her collaboration with Madewell at the Bowery Hotel, Alexa Chung teamed up with another label — Mulberry — to host a dinner at the Soho House on Tuesday night.
Chung’s similarly stylish pals, including Agyness Deyn, Poppy Delevigne, Harley Viera-Newton, Amber Le Bon and Daisy Lowe were on hand for the fete, where party favors included masks, Polaroid cameras, and, most notably, Mulberry’s brown leather “Alexa” bag — inspired, of course, by the hostess.
For a girl who’s MTV show got cancelled in December, Chung certainly is in high demand. “[That’s because] bad outfits don’t exist for Alexa,” said Lowe. “She could roll around in cat litter and still look f—ing hot.” Meanwhile Chung, who arrived with rocker boyfriend Alex Turner of the Artic Monkeys, said she tries not to buy into all the hype. “I try not to think about being called a trend setter,” she said. “Otherwise I’d be worried about what I was wearing every day.”
Towards the night’s end, focus shifted off Chung and onto Deyn, who was presented with a surprise birthday cake from vegan bakery BabyCakes. “I’m not vegan,” said the model. “I just love BabyCakes.”
