LOVE FEST: The ball held on Saturday by designer Luisa Beccaria and her husband Lucio Bonaccorsi, Marquis Borgia del Castelluccio, at their Sicilian estate to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary will be remembered as the party of all parties in this sleepy and sun-drenched corner of the Italian island. The Milanese designer succeeded in drawing 850 friends to her restored medieval castle, Il Castelluccio, nestled on the hills an hour and a half away from Siracusa, which includes a Baroque church, cobbled courtyards and white-washed walls covered with roses, bougainvillaea and wisteria.
”This is the perfect setting for the Beccarias — they look like the sweetest dolls,” said Margherita Missoni, referring to her friends, the designer’s daughters, Lucilla, Lucrezia and Luna.
No doubt, the dreamy gowns — as per the invitation — added to that effect. Guests – who included Allegra and Francesca Versace, Pia Miller Getty, Allegra Hicks, Fulvia and Leonardo Ferragamo, Teresa Missoni, Katell Le Bourhis, Miley Zegna, Marta Marzotto, Irina Abramovich, and most of Italy’s double-barreled and royal surnames, from Bianca d’Aosta Arrivabene and Camilla and Carlo di Borbone to Manfredi della Gherardesca, Ester Velo and Fulco Ruffo di Calabria – dined al fresco on long tables placed between rows of candle-lit olive trees. “I really didn’t expect all these dear friends to make it down here,” said Bonaccorsi.
“I wouldn’t have missed it for the world,” said Zegna, who has been friends with Beccaria since high school.
ON THE ROOF: Gucci threw a fete for Rihanna and Joe Zee Saturday night at ABH atop the Thompson Beverly Hills, inviting a slew of pretty young things for cocktails and Bond St. sushi. Malin Ackerman, Camilla Belle, Beau Garrett, Minka Kelly, Rashida Jones and Becki Newton showed up well in advance of the pop star, who didn’t disappoint once she arrived, shimmying to the old school music spun by her former tour DJ, Max Glazer. “It’s chilly, so I gotta keep moving,” she said. She did sit down to eat – although sushi isn’t her thing, someone in her three-person entourage made sure she had a plate of noodles from P.F. Chang’s.
The rest of the crowd, wrapped in cream cashmere blankets to guard against the wind, traded anecdotes about everything from summer vacation plans (Jacinda Barrett and husband Gabriel Macht are headed to their beach house in Australia) to, a propos of the setting, “Beverly Hills, 90210.” “I was actually on that show,” said Macht rather sheepishly.
“No way!” gasped Newton. “You need to tell me which episode, because I seriously know them all.”
