Whether stuffing suitcases with flip-flops or ski boots, the chic set is packing up and heading out this holiday season.

Destination: “Uruguay with my three daughters and son.”
Fashion staples: “Very little. Brazilian flip-flops in white and red, Melissa Odabash shorts to go with my bathing suit, my massive collection of bikinis and some Muriel Brandolini cover-ups.”
Activities: “José Ignacio is a peninsula with beaches on either side, so the big debate is, which side are we going to today? You wake up and look at the wind and decide which beach is less windy and then go there. We windsurf and bodysurf.”
Hot spots: “Around 4 or 5 o’clock everyone gets ‘submarines’ — hot chocolate with vanilla ice cream and more melted chocolate — at La Huella. All the kids go dune-surfing, and the parents sit and drink submarines or smoke cigarettes. Then you don’t go to dinner until 11.”
Most looking forward to: “Hanging out with my kids because there’s no program. The pace is different. There’s a lot going on, a lot of action, but days just move more slowly.”

Destination: “For the first time in 15 years, taking a break from Mustique and going to Careyes, Mexico.”
Fashion staples: “Lots of Havaianas, Allegra Hicks caftans, bikinis, Modo sunglasses and a black-and-white Michael Kors sundress.”
Activities: “We’ll hang on the beach, by the pool, eat quesadillas and guacamole, drink margaritas — just chill with our sons and our friends. Also some tennis, polo (playing — not only spectating!) and swims.”
Hot spots: “Favorite spots are Playa Rosa beach, the restaurant by the beach (also called Playa Rosa). Not really much else there…which I love.
Most looking forward to: “No schedule and no routine — spontaneous living for a change.”

Destination: “I am traveling with my boyfriend, family and friends to Florida to get some fun in the sun — Miami or West Palm Beach. I haven’t decided yet.”
Beauty staples: Chanel No.5, Acqua Di Parma and Sephora Super Supreme Body Butter “packed in my WEK1933 bag.”
Activities: “Relaxing, reading and writing and just enjoying time with my loved ones.”
Hot spots: “Of course, the beach.”
Travel tip: “Pack light and simple and drink lots of water.”

Destination: “My house in Palm Beach, where I can relax with my family. It’s all about family time.”
Activities: “Taking my girls to play tennis, watching TV, eating together. Also, my husband and I love playing golf together.”
Hot spots: “If I’m with my daughters, we’ll walk to the Esplanade shopping center on Worth Avenue, which gives you a quick view of what’s happening in local fashion. I also always visit Ralph Lauren’s store to stock up on Bermuda shorts, which he does so well. And I can’t resist the cashmere sweaters at Trillion’s.”
Travel tip: “It’s really about layering. Layering gives you the most fashion choices. You can create multiple looks depending on your mood and the weather. Leggings are also a key piece for travel. Great for the airplane and fabulous under a terrific coat at night.”

Destination: “Ketchum, Idaho, with my mom, dad, husband, brother and the kiddies.”
In her suitcase: “Ancient but still-does-the-job Polo Sport parka, L.L. Bean fleeces, tons of super-warm but asexual nightgowns (sorry, Harry!), toasty long-sleeve dresses for night parties, 10-buck travel menorah from Gracious Home.”
Activities: “Ski, read, sleep, watch TV, chow, celebrate my parents’ 35th wedding anniversary.”
Hot spots: “Lunch at Grumpy’s ( for the ‘fowl burger’), dinner at Il Naso or the Pio.”
Most looking forward to: “Watching my older daughter’s face when she’s on skis, plopping with friends we see only there, cheesy carols sung by a Mormon a cappella group wearing ye-olde-fashioned outfits.”
On her wish list: “Eight consecutive hours of sleep and a chairlift ride with Clint Eastwood.”

Destination: “St. Barth’s with my husband, stepson and very good friends.”
In her suitcase: “Tomas Maier and Melissa Odabash bikinis; Lisa Corti, Eres, Lotti B and Odabash + MacDonald caftans; Balenciaga & Da Constanzo of Capri flats; Prada LBD and YSL gold-plated wedges and vintage Indian cotton print dresses for evening; Fekkai shea butter hair mask, Clarins sun protection; my ‘Buddy Lee’ jump rope (for the very occasional exercise); ‘The Emperor’s Children’ by Claire Messud for beach reading.”
Activities: “Read the manual for my new Canon 30D camera so that I can take pictures of my seven-week-old puppy, Lilly — both are Christmas gifts from my husband.”
Hot spots: “Maya’s or Pacri for dinner, Taiwana for lunch, Lolita Jaca for great beach clothing, Human Steps for shoes.”
Most looking forward to: “Checking out the new Frédéric Fekkai spa at the Hotel Guanahani.”
Travel tradition: “Playing cards with my stepson, Alexander.”
