Little girl grows up: Kendall Jenner turns 21 on Thursday and planned to mark the occasion Wednesday night at Catch LA for dinner, and newly opened restaurant Delilah in West Hollywood, Calif., for a party to celebrate.
As for what she wore? Well, word is Jenner had planned two looks, naturally — one for her dinner and another for the party.
The party dress was custom made for her by Lebanese designer Antoine Salameh, under his brand LaBourjoisie. Having dressed the likes of Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Khloé Kardashian, and the littlest Jenner, Kylie, LaBourjoisie is a red carpet look familiar to the most prolific of Us Weekly readers, but a relatively unknown name.
“I have a longstanding relationship with stylist Monica Rose,” Salameh said, of creating the look for Jenner. “[Rose] reached out to our p.r. company requesting a custom look for Kendall. The dress took two weeks from inception to creation.”
The sparkly, silver, backless number is “the perfect party dress because it’s very lightweight and easy to move in,” Salameh said. “[Jenner] can dance the night away in it. I’ve always wanted to dress Kendall. I’ve had the pleasure of dressing her sisters and she’s always been on the top of my wish list. I am excited to dress her for such a grand occasion as her 21st birthday.”
For the dress, Salameh says “we went off of Kendall’s Twenties reference and we wanted to give her a modern take on it; like Kendall, the dress is timeless and chic. She sent over reference images and I took it from there. It’s young, sexy and fun.”
And Jenner will only be 21 once.
