What does your family think about your being a model?
They are extremely happy, my mom wanted me to be a model since I was kid, but I never gave it much thought. They were surprised it all happened so fast, as my first show put me in the market very quickly.
How were you discovered?
I was living in the Canary Islands for two years and one day I was out with my two friends at a shopping center, and an agent from a small agency approached me asking if I had thought about being a model. He said that my profile is what the market is looking for right now.
What was your first runway experience?
It was the Prada spring runway show. I felt extremely nervous because it was my first show ever. I was opening the show, I didn’t know that, I assumed I was following someone, and the fact the set had a swimming pool around it made me even more nervous. For a moment I felt everything stop, then it was like going from zero to 100 — it’s impossible to describe.
Who are your favorite designers?
I don’t know if I could ever choose, there are so many, but I love Alexander Wang, Miuccia Prada, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein.
What are the pros of being a model?
For one, it’s a great learning exercise, when you are traveling constantly you are meeting new people every day, you learn from the mistakes you make, it’s a good growing experience, to mature.
What would be your dream job?
Nothing specific comes to mind, I just hope to have the opportunity to keep working with amazing talent and everything will come into place.
If you weren’t a model, what would you like to do?
I have been playing soccer since I was six years old. I had to stop playing soccer because I started modeling, actually, but right now I am studying law online. So for now, I have the opportunity to do both. I see myself being a lawyer, we’ll see.
What are you obsessed with right now?
Obsessed? It’s a strong word, but I love to walk at night, big cities like New York or when I was in China. There is something about all the lights in the night that impresses me so much — it’s a bit breathtaking.
