While the world holds its collective breath to hear who takes home the statuettes at the 83rd annual Academy Awards on Sunday, there are already crowd favorites among the contenders. Not surprisingly, the younger set, including Oscar telecast hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco, is drawing the most buzz according to E-Poll Market Research, which ranks nominees based on overall appeal and awareness. Gerry Philpott, chief executive officer of the firm, told WWD, “The anticipation is high this year for a number of reasons – popular movies, known and promising stars, and most importantly, youth. From the selection of the hosts, to some of the nominees such as Hailee Steinfeld, Jesse Eisenberg and Jennifer Lawrence, you are seeing a fresh crop of new talent that will draw the younger audiences.”
Oscar-Nominated Actors by E-Score Celebrity
E-Score Celebrity is conducted weekly among a representative sample of 1,100 respondents ages 13+, representative of the US population with respect to income, age, education, and geographic demographics.
Data citations should be attributed to E-Poll Market Research, whose E-Score Celebrity service ranks more than 6,000 celebrities on awareness, appeal, and 46 different personality attributes
The E-Score is a composite measure that encapsulates the relative marketing effectiveness of each individual celebrity in the E-Score Celebrity database. This calculation takes into account awareness and appeal scores, as well as negative appeal and other factors. Each personality is then ranked on a scale from 1 to 100 based on their score relative to all celebrities measured.
