On Tuesday night, Prada threw its semi-annual fashion week bash at its SoHo outpost, where Kanye West and scores of this season’s front row ubiquitors–Leighton Meester, Zoe Saldana, Elizabeth Banks–mingled with models and Euros such as Jessica Stam, Peaches Geldof, Fiona Scarry and Lou Doillon. This year’s entertainment, a trippy, animated short film titled “Fallen Shadows,” coupled with the trance music pounding over the sound system made for a decidedly more “discotheque” feel than in years past. It proved too much for some.

“I’ve lost all of my friends and they have my cell phone,” said a stranded Meester, as fans approached her for photos with their digital cameras. (She gamely obliged.)

The store’s merchandise had been cleared out to make room for the crowds.

“Thank God or this entire place would be looted,” said Patton. “I’ve done damage in here before,” she added, “but ‘damage’ for me isn’t the same as ‘damage’ for other people; I’m not that highly paid an actress.”

Not that there weren’t some of those on hand: Claire Danes (with beau Hugh Dancy) and Jessica Alba both made blink-and-you-miss-it appearances after attending the Narcisco Rodriguez party a few blocks away. “I don’t even think she stopped walking,” noted one guest of Danes, who made a bee-line for a back exit as soon as she entered the front one.
