Wearing sunglasses at night is usually just obnoxious, but at Ray-Ban’s bash Tuesday evening for its re-released Clubmaster frames, the look was de rigueur.

Maggie Gyllenhaal, Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson and Kevin Bacon all donned their shades as they tumbled into the Bowery Ballroom to hear indie bands including The Black Kids and Ipso Facto reinterpret their favorite tracks from the Fifties and Sixties — like “Egyptian Shumba” by Lou Christie & The Tammy’s.

Gyllenhaal, however, had film on the brain. She was looking forward to hitting the theater for anything starring Kate Winslet. “Kate is brilliant in everything she does and is a friend of mine, so I’m always rooting for her,” said Gyllenhaal.

A handful of “Gossip Girl” stars including Blake Lively, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley secluded themselves upstairs, where they drank Jack and Cokes in a private booth. Westwick talked about spending Christmas at home in England and New Year’s in Edinburgh, while Lively warned about the dangers of re-gifting. “My mom would give me something for my birthday, and after I played with it for 10 minutes, she would take it away and give it to me for Christmas,” she said with a laugh.
