The brand And1 is now available in Canada for basketball, footwear and apparel.
The collection includes men’s, boys and infant’s apparel, as well as footwear.
And1 is owned by brand management firm Sequential Brands Group. Sequential has also expanded And1’s product offering in the U.S. to include sporting goods.
Eddie Esses, president of Sequential’s active division, said, “We are seeing strong customer response with the launch of these new initiatives.
The launch of the Canadian distribution channel is through Wal-Mart Canada.
Sequential acquired And1 in 2014 when it bought Galaxy Brand Holdings for $260.3 million. Included in that deal were fitness brand Avia, footwear brand Nevados and home-goods brand Linens ‘n Things.
The deal gave Carlyle Group a significant stake in Sequential, as well as one seat on the brand management firm’s board. Carlyle was the majority owner of Galaxy. Esses was the chief executive officer of Galaxy. Galaxy’s senior management team became employees of Sequential.
