ASICS America Group, opened its first flagship in São Paulo, Brazil on Aug. 31. The brand has had a Brazilian subsidiary for the past four years and it is the fastest growing region within the ASICS Corp. with a net sales increase of 39 percent in 2010.
The store, on Oscar Freire Street, features a design that is similar to the other ASICS stores around the world and includes the Foot ID system, which uses a 3-D scan of the foot and a gait analysis to help consumers determine the best shoe for their foot and running style. The store is white and royal blue, like the company’s other stores in New York City, London and Tokyo. The first floor features running footwear, apparel and accessories while the second floor offers products for volleyball, tennis, soccer and other sports.
“ASICS…has seen significant growth in Brazil over the last few years. With the new store, we hope to offer to Brazilian runners the experience of having the entire ASICS collection in one place, and in addition show the consumer the wide variety of other products from our brand,” said Giovani Decker, brand manager for ASICS Brazil.
