Cosabella will open its first store in New York on Aug. 1.

The 2,000-square-foot boutique will combine both its showroom and retail operations into one venue at 220 Lafayette Street, between Spring Street and Broome Street.

The decor will emulate the lively, bright colors and quality of Cosabella’s products which include lingerie, shapewear, loungewear and swimwear, said Guido Campello, vice president of sales, marketing and innovation of the family-owned company, which is based in Miami.

Designed by Turett Collaborative Architects, the luxurious space will feature the building’s original 19th-century red brick walls juxtaposed against natural and industrial materials such as a matte cement floor finish. Merchandise will be displayed and sold to shoppers at the front of the store, while a wholesale showroom environment will take up the center, and a private room at the back with fitting rooms will be reserved for celebrity clients. Leading to the private room will be cascading white fabric-lined walls and white framed fixtures showcasing Cosabella’s 2011 ad campaign, World of Colors, as well as a “Wall of Fame,” which will feature autographed photos and favorite underwear items by a host of Cosabella-loving celebs, said Campello.

“We expect people to come in just to look at the celebrity wall or see if they can catch a glimpse of a celebrity coming in for a fitting,” said Campello.

Among the divas who will have their photos and undergarments signed and framed will be Sarah Jessica Parker, Bobbie Thomas, Cher, Rita Wilson, Victoria Beckham, Paula Abdul, Naomi Campbell, Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, Courteney Cox, and Scarlett Johansson.
