The HUG Award, an acronym for Help Us Give, will be hosted by the Intimate Apparel Square Club on Nov. 4 at The Pierre Hotel in New York. Proceeds of the cocktail gala and dinner-dance will benefit the pediatric unit of the Howard A. Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center.

“We are thrilled to have an honoree of this caliber,” said Gary Hughes, president of the IASC. “Victoria’s Secret is an undisputed leader in lingerie, glamour and elegance, and as our 2009 honoree they have shown that they are also a brand with a lot of heart. We anticipate this to be our best fund-raising year yet.”

In 1999, the IASC pledged $6 million to support programs at the pediatric wing of the Rusk Institute. The annual event has raised more than $3 million for Rusk.

The Intimate Apparel Council, a division of the American Apparel & Footwear Association, has announced the 2010 innerwear market week dates in New York: Feb. 1 to 4; May 3 to 6; Aug. 2 to 5, and Nov. 1 to 4.
